ear candling

i love massage therapy school!! we got to try ear candling. it was my first time and let me just say, it was an interesting experience. above is little ol' moi getting my ear candling on with help of my fellow classmate julie.

first step, light the ear candle...
second step, place the ear candle in the ear canal...
if you see any smoke coming out around the ear then you don't have the candle securely in place...
the lovely models are my teacher yasuko and my classmate moose.

ear candling many criticisms, however, if you get a chance to try it i think it's worth it. what are your thoughts? have you tried ear candling before?

I love ear candling! I made the boyfriend learn how to do it last year, after I was having dizzy spells and came home from the natural food store with candles. After experimenting (safely) with the candles, my vertigo went away.

Very interesting. I've heard of ear candeling, but cannot recall the benifits for it.

My sister and myself suffer with vertigo as well, I think this calls for more research!

Think this is the same as hopi ear candling that I have had done which is AMAZING! I was so apprehensive at first (who wouldn't be seeing the candle stuck out of an ear) but the result was incredible. I would definatly recommend it.

I found this article or blog at http://www.earcandleblog.com It talked about the orgin of ear candling and the common misconceptions of ear candles as well. It was easy to read and very easy to follow. If your looking for good insight I recommend checking it out.

Huh! I had no idea that you could do this lying down. Hansel and I have done it--but sitting upright in a chair. Very interesting!!
