artist's date

here is a sneak peak at my latest artist's date

i had the most lovely artist's date that i've had in a while. i've had this plain old cork board that has housed my jewelry for a while now. (i have to have my jewelry visible or else i'll forget about having it.) but i was getting tired of looking at the same old boring board.
see what i mean - boo!!

so i threw on some great tunes on pandora and got to work. i decided to do what i do best and gussy it up!! i gathered some "parisian pink" folk art acrylic paint and a lovely black and white damask print paper (both from michaels).

while i painted i listened to fabulous artist's such as frou frou, jem, lily allen, feist, kate havnevik, imogen heap, yael naim, and regina spektor to name a few. a couple of hours later my jewelry board went from drab to fab!!
here is the finished product with jewelry in place and hanging on my bedroom wall below my 2009 vision board

What a great idea!! I have a cork board lying around and my pretty cardboard earring holder just came apart. So I am definitely going to try this. Thank you!

Ahhhh! Such a great idea! My jewelry is in little piles all around my bedroom -- I've managed to keep some of it in boxes, but I absolutely love this idea. I love the damask paper & its contrast with the pink! Beautiful, my dear!

Hi Melita! I am in the midst of cleaning out my home office and moving to my new office and I just took a break to peruse your blog. Here's some synchronicity for you: I was literally just looking at my cork board full of various cut-out inspirations that I have not changed in quite some time and thinking what should I do with this?!? I am most definitely going to try your jewelry board idea - I love it! Thanks for the inspiration :-)

Wow, that is beautiful. I was looking at the ad for Michael's in today's paper and eyeing the acrylic paints on sale, wondering what I could do with them. Now I know! Thanks for the inspiration....

Owww...I love your cork board. Now you're really getting my creative juices flowing. =) Your choice of music sounds exactly like who I would be listening to.

I love this. In an odd bit of synchronicity I bought a similar bulletin board when i was usptate a few weeks ago, with plans to do somethign with damask with it - my current challenge is what color i want for the frame - ideally i want some damask there too.
