thankful thursday

i am glad to say goodbye to both packing boxes and to carpet! i did keep the beautiful little >^..^< though. :) hooray for (a little scuffed up) but beautiful old oak wood floors that squeak when i walk on them!!

once i get settled in a little more, i will definitely put up some pics. in the mean time, here is a shot of me doing yoga on my back deck yesterday.

this thursday i am thankful for this wonderful little house that i've found and being very happy in it thus far. what are you thankful for on this thursday?

september birthdays

today my little girl turns 11 years old!! my how time flies when you have a sweet little poodle (one of her many nicknames).




the ever adorable sanjay also turned 5 years old sept 1st. my little man is growing up - although, he still acts like a kitten :)

bed day

the air has a crispness to it today that is a foreshadowing of what is to come. i love fall and all of it's beauty.

i've declared today a bed day. other than my chiropractor appointment and my massage appointment, i will send the day in bed. yes, other things will try to work their way into my day (and that has already proven to be so with a early text asking if i could do a massage later today) but i have to be selfish with my time today and take care of me.

the past two days my energy has been rather low. i'm always on the go, go, go! and i think my body is just letting me know, 'ay lady, you need to slow down, rest and rejuvenate.' so today, i will listen to my body and give it what it needs.

today's festivities will include some major cuddle time with the snuggly


and a few forceful cuddles with the not so snuggly

artist's date picnic

i've been enjoying kimberly wilson's tranquilista e-course very much.

i've also been having a blast playing with my visual journal.

if you know kimberly, then you know she's a big fan of 'omwork.' omwork is what kimberly coined is homework with a yogic twist. so, it's beneficial and fun!

during our most recent class, part of our 'omwork' was to go on an artist's date. i realized that i haven't gone on an artist's date in a very long time.

so, i gathered my gear and headed for my backyard

and a good companion for a lovely afternoon. (now, i realize that an artist's date is supposed to be solo, but i don't think i'll get any complaints for my date)

tranquil tuesday

cadyn helps make my tuesdays more tranquil by giving me some snuggle time on the couch.

i heart snow

it's no secret, i love snow. every time the local news stations predicts that we are going to get some snow i always scoff because usually they are wrong. i am happy to say that this time they were right!!

cadyn is not a big fan of the snow due to her size. she absolutely refused to look at me when i was trying to take a picture of her. she is adorable in her little sweater and snow on her nose.

happy birthday to my sweet little cadyn. today she turns 10 years old!! i love you poodle!!

cadyn is a miniature pincher - rat terrier. she is a southern belle from north carolina.

cadyn means "little warrior."

and she will always be my little girl.

sewing rendezvous

one of the things on my may goals list was to have a sewing rendezvous with my momma. my mom is very talented when it comes to sewing. me, i do alright when guided, but it's not exactly my thing.

i took a pair of tranquilit perfect pants to make into capris for the summer. seeing as that i have two pairs of these pants i could do with one pair being shorter especially on these hot summer days . i let my momma take care of doing the work on these as i didn't want to mess them up.

with the guidance of my mom, i made a pet bed for our little petting zoo. we made it with a removable cover so that it can be easily washed. my "first born" brak was there to try it out when we got it finished. he loved it. i told my mom that she was going to have to make him one because he loved it so much.

as you can see, the pet bed was a big hit all around. since i brought it home at least one of the pets (both cats & dogs) are on it at all times. that makes me feel great since i worked pretty hard on it :)

meet the family

well, it's time i introduce the family. you've seen pictures of me and ryan before (and some of the fur babies) but this is ALL of the fur babies! together, ryan and i have 5 fur babies. i came into the relationship with 3 (2 cats and 1 dog) and he came into it with 2 (1 cat and 1 dog). luckily they all get along (most of the time). so, without further ado, let me introduce you to the family....

dooty is the love of my life! he is my 10 year old boy. he has been with me through thick and thin (literally and figuratively) . i don't know what i'd do without him!!

sanjay is my other baby boy. he is 3 years old. he is the player of the family. he plays fetch with these little pompoms we have, jumps 3/4 of the door frame, and sounds like a horse when he gallops through the house. no wonder he is so skinny!!

rawkus (ryan's spelling of ruckus) and clearly named that for a reason. this boy may look cute (which he is) but he is mean!! i mean MEAN, no kidding. we love him despite his assholish ways. rawkus is somewhere around 8 years old. ryan isn't for sure since rawkus was a stray when he saved him from the cruel outside world.

cadyn is my 9 year old miniature pincher/rat terrier. her breed is technically a "min pin rat." i got cadyn when she was able to fit in my hand she was so small. my ex-husband picked her out. after we separated i kept her because there was no way i would ever separate her and dooty. they are best buddies!

lastly, we have sadeye (ryan's spelling for sadie) but pretty fitting since she's a 3/4 basset 1/4 beagle. she does have a little bit of sad eyes due to the saggy-ness of the basset. sadie (as i spell it) is 6 years old. she's quite the stubborn-headed girl most of the time but we love her anyways.
