risk

life is full of risks. whether we realize it or not, we take risks everyday.

martha beck said "what's safe about not being who you were meant to be?" that completely resonated with me.

i wish i would have read this book a year ago. reading it now makes me realize that when i took the risk of switching gears from accounting to massage therapy and yoga was exactly what i needed.

sometimes the risk we most need to take is pushing ourselves and i am so grateful that i did.

follow along with other risk takers by visiting jamie ridler's the next chapter.

I love the way that you summed up the risk chapter. It is so lovely to have you an example of the power of risk taking. Thank you so much sharing.

I resonated with that statement too.... "what's safe about not being who you were meant to be?" Here's to continually moving forward through our fears and allowing our joy to unfold!

Yes, I loved when Martha Beck said, "what's safe about not being who you were meant to be?" I haven't completely made a gear switch yet, but this is precisely what's been going on in my life lately. What is it that I'm meant to be/do, and how will that happen best? It seems like the question is taking time, more time than I wish, but the subject is important enough to deserve that. So, I continue with it and gradually, little by little, find what really brings me joy.

The old "if I'd only known then what I know now" :) It's true though isn't it? And yet...timing is everything. Even if you had "thought" about this change a year ago, would you have been really ready to make the change to take that risk? You can't know for sure...but the fact that you did listen to your heart and you are now reading the book is rather like an affirmation isn't it?

I think you could really help some of us who are thinking of leaving one "steady" thing to move on to our heart's desire. Would love to hear more about the steps you took to do massage and yoga from accounting.

I had not read it either when I made a huge change in direction. :)
Somehow I think I appreciate the text more than I would have then.
